Digital Waivers

Guests sign before they show up. No clipboards, no paper, no delays at the dock.

Shipped February 5, 2026

✦ Key takeaways

  • Guests get their waiver link automatically in the booking confirmation email — before they even think about arrival logistics.
  • The signed waiver record includes the guest’s name, signature, timestamp, and the exact waiver text they agreed to.
  • Operators see a pre-departure checklist showing which guests have signed and which still need to.

Paper waivers at the dock are a bottleneck every operator knows. Guests arrive late, pens run dry, someone can’t read the handwriting, and you’re holding the whole group at the gangway while someone signs form 4 of 4.

Freebo’s digital waivers send the link in the booking confirmation. By the time a guest shows up, most of them have already signed from their phone. You start on time.

How it works

You create your waiver once in Freebo — paste in your legal text, add your business name, and save. Freebo wraps it in a clean, mobile-friendly signing page. When a booking is confirmed, the waiver link goes out in the confirmation email automatically.

Each guest clicks the link, reads the waiver, types their name, and submits. That’s it. Freebo records the signature with a timestamp and attaches it to the reservation.

  1. Create your waiver

Paste your waiver text into the waiver editor. Add your business name and any custom language. Save it.

  2. Link it to a product

Assign the waiver to any product that requires one. The link is included automatically in that product’s confirmation emails.

  3. Guests sign before arrival

Each guest receives the link in their confirmation email and signs on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop.

  4. Check signing status before departure

The reservation page shows each guest’s signing status. Send a reminder to anyone who hasn’t signed yet.

Is a digitally signed Freebo waiver legally enforceable?
Digital signatures are legally binding in the US under ESIGN and UETA. Freebo records the signer's name, timestamp, IP address, and the exact text they agreed to. Your attorney should review your waiver language — Freebo handles the signature infrastructure.
Can I require waiver signing before a booking is confirmed?
Waivers can be configured as a required step in the checkout flow (sign before paying) or as a post-booking step sent via confirmation email. Most operators prefer the post-booking flow for checkout conversion.
