✦ Key takeaways

  • Send a customer a secure pay link to collect an outstanding balance or any amount due
  • The customer pays on a branded page with no account or login
  • Every payment gets a confirmation number, shows up in your payment history, and flows through the Freebo ledger

A deposit gets the booking on the calendar, but the balance is where operators lose time — chasing customers by phone, waiting for a check, or running a card at the dock. Payment links close that gap. From the reservation, you send the customer a secure link to a hosted page where they pay the amount owed. No account, no login, no back-and-forth.

How it works

  1. Send the link Open a reservation with an outstanding balance and use the Send pay-link panel. Copy the link, or email it directly to the customer from the dashboard — the email carries a button straight to the payment page.
  2. The customer pays The link opens a secure, branded page showing the exact amount due. The customer pays by card — no Freebo account and no login. Each payment gets its own confirmation number.
  3. It lands in your books The payment appears in the reservation’s payment history and flows through the Freebo ledger, so your outstanding balance and reports stay correct automatically.

The amount owed is always priced from Freebo’s ledger at the moment the customer clicks — never a stale figure and never a number the customer can change.

Save the deposit card, charge the balance later

When a customer pays a deposit, Freebo saves that card — with the customer’s consent — so you can charge the remaining balance later without them present. See saved cards for the full story. That means a group can put down a deposit online today, and when the balance comes due you collect it in one step instead of sending another link and waiting.

Payment links are live in production and have processed real customer balances.

Does the customer need a Freebo account to pay?
No. The pay link opens a secure hosted page with no login. The customer just sees the amount owed and pays by card.
Will pay-link payments show up in my payment history?
Yes. Payments made through a pay link appear in the reservation's payment history alongside your other transactions and flow through the Freebo ledger, so your outstanding balance and reports stay accurate.
Can I collect a balance without sending another link?
Yes. If the customer consented to saving their card at deposit time, you can charge the remaining balance directly from the reservation without the customer present.
How does the customer know the payment went through?
Every payment gets a confirmation number, and the payment is recorded against the reservation immediately.
